MY 526 6" pliers, February 21, 2012
I have the 526 6" slip joint plier's that i bought in the fall of 2011 they work really well for a little bit of everything either around my house or over at my neighbor's I have used them along with a 6 or 8" crescent wrench to check and make sure a few bolt's was tight on a utility trailer or a boat trailer. They are alway's in my back pocket of my jean's or short's all year long they have saved me on more than once along with a crescent wrench insted of walking back across the road to my house to grab something else from the tool box. They are a very awsome tool and the fact they are still made in the usa in meadville pa you dont find many slip joint pliers that are made in the usa anymore seems like the good american made brand's are getting very scares and diff to find anymore.

my favoritse pliers, December 17, 2011
These general purpose pliers get used more often than any other pliers I own. They are still working fine after 20+ years. The joint is still wiggle free and the blue handles are still in good shape. I would call these the most basic and essential pliers for any tool kit.

Great portable pliers, October 12, 2011
These are great pliers. Sturdy and cut galvanized wire like a hot knife thru butter. I remember an old pair of the same style my father had twenty years ago, and all they did was weaken the wire and you gave the wire a bend upward and one downward and then the wire broke. But these cut as good as wire cutting pliers. Great quality and value.
Great job Channellock. And these have the added bonus of having the Channellock blue grips over the handles which make them more comfortable & easier to handle.

Channellock 526 slip joint pliers, July 13, 2011
I just purchased the 526 slip joint 6" pliers at our local Apex tru value in Marietta Ohio. I have the "CEE TEE" brand made by crescent tool company I bought this pair to see how they compare to my old crescent brand pliers that are from the 1920's. These have good weight and I can't wait to use them when I am doing work on mowers for my neighbor or just odd's and end jobs for my neighbor these will be carried in my back pocket at all times. The six inch pliers are my favorite for everyday use for big or small jobs.

Update to previous review, March 23, 2011
I'm Finding more and more use for these little 6" Channellock slip-joint pliers every weekend that goes by. In fact I got so annoyed with having to fetch them out of my truck all the time that I just bought a second pair to keep in my garage tool chest in the same drawer as with my other vast array of various Channellock pliers. Actually most of the time they now just sit out on top of one of two work benches within easy reach for whenever I need them. They have multiple use and yet are easy to carry in a back pocket when working around the house or around the shop.

Better than other brands, September 02, 2010
I often use task-specific pliers when working in my shop or working on my own vehicles i.e. needlenose, snap-ring, hose-clamp, tongue & groove, oil-filter, or linemens. I rarely find myself reaching for a pair of basic 6" slip-joint pliers for a job, but I do keep this pair in my truck and they come in handy on occasion. The wire cutting feature on these pliers is of little use. Not sure why ordinary slip-joint pliers even bother incorporating this feature, but most do. What makes these pliers better than other brands is that the jaws have nearly no play, slop, or wiggle at all, yet they are smooth operating with no bind-up. Other makers of slip-joins make a loose, wiggley, and sloppy plier. These pliers, like all Channelock pliers are tough, have strong durable teeth, are well made, and unlike other professional brand tools these can easily be found in any good local hardware store.
