Must Have, February 24, 2012

I bought the Wide Azz 8WCB wrench last week for a close-quarter plumbing job. Worked perfect, just enough clearance. I really like the thin and wide jaw opening of this tool. No one quite makes a wrench like this one. They are a little hard to find, if you do find one get it! A little pricey, but really worth every penny. By the way the jaw will actually open to 1.645", my 12" Crescent won't even do that...

Most large fasteners I need to move don't take a lot of torque, bearing locknuts, valve bonnets and such. Many of them you can't get on with a large wrench because the jaws are too thick. This little wrench and it's six inch little brother is the solution. I hope Channel Lock sees fit to make similar wrenches in 10 inch and 12 inch.

I use an adjustable wrench for work everyday so a quality tool can make the job much nicer. This wrench is a quality tool. The jaws open up nice and wide and accommodate a large variety of nut and bolt sizes. The jaws are nice and solid with little to no wiggling or slop in the adjustment knob. After using this wrench for 5 months, I bought one for home use since the wrench I had at home felt like a cheap tool after using this. It does cost more than the average adjustable wrench, but this is a quality tool that obviously costs more to make....and it is worth it!
