We recently concluded the "Eights and Nines" Sweepstakes to celebrate the launch of the #89 Rescue Tool, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We gave away #89 Rescue Tools to seven lucky, weekly winners. And, we received more than 10,000 entries to the contest in seven weeks!

The best part is that we couldn’t have asked for more appreciative winners of the first and second prizes.

Troy Maynor of Nashville won the trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony and Game. Troy and his wife, Rella, are huge Tennessee Titans fans, so they were very excited that the Titans played the Buffalo Bills in the Hall of Fame Game.

They said that it was very moving to hear all of the living inductees tell their personal stories during the ceremony. Bruce Smith was the most memorable – Troy said that Smith told a heartwarming story about how much his wife and family supported him during and after his career.

Of course, the Maynors enjoyed the game even more – the Titans won 21–18. Bills fans greatly outnumbered the Titans fans because two people from the Bills organization were inducted (long-time owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. and Smith). The Titans fans arrived Sunday morning for the game, so Troy and Rella did see friendly faces in Canton.

They were kind enough to send a picture of them from their trip - it's posted in the image gallery (select "company news").

Larry Logan of Salem, Va., won the custom-engraved #89 Rescue Tools for his station. He's the deputy chief of the Fort Lewis (Va.) Volunteer Fire Department in Roanoke Co. He works out of Station #9 with 29 other firefighters who dedicate their time and risk their lives to keep the people of Fort Lewis safe.

He told us many times how excited he and the other firefighters are to get their hands on the Rescue Tools. In fact, Larry recently purchased the first Rescue Tool that we released – the #88. He can't wait to see what the cutting head of the #89 can do. He knows that it will be very useful during many of their emergency runs.

Congratulations to both winners! Thanks for being great ambassadors for CHANNELLOCK®. We’re glad that the prizes went to two gentlemen who appreciated them so much.
