The holidays are a wonderful time of year, but too often we get wrapped up in the shopping and the deals and forget what this season is really about. Everyone is guilty of this sometimes, even us. If you look around our site, you’ll find deals and promotions for your loved ones this season, but that’s not what I want to focus on today. Instead, in the spirit of the season, I’d like to reflect on why everyone at CHANNELLOCK® is thankful.
Founded in 1886 by George B. DeArment, CHANNELLOCK® will enter into its 125th year in business in 2011. It’s an amazing accomplishment, especially considering that the company has remained privately-owned. Today, CHANNELLOCK® is run by the fifth generation of DeArments. We feel like this continuity has made the company into more than a business or employer – it’s a family.
The CHANNELLOCK® family, today more than 400 strong, has over the years turned a tiny purveyor of farrier’s tools into a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of high-quality pliers. Our associates are dedicated, honest and hard-working. Without our workforce of talented craftsmen, machinists, technicians, engineers, salespeople, maintenance staff and administrative employees, we wouldn’t be in business. If there is one thing my family has taught me over the years, it’s that you should always be thankful for good employees. I’m grateful that CHANNELLOCK® has more than its share.
Finally, and most importantly, CHANNELLOCK® is thankful for you, our customers and loyal fans. Year-in and year-out, you recognize quality and innovation. You value products designed and manufactured in the United States. You work hard and sweat blue. Because you are who you are, we are CHANNELLOCK®, and we are grateful.
Thank you.
