It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for all of us here in Meadville. While we’ve been busy forging new tools to introduce to our lineup this/next month, we were also visited by the crew from one of our favorite television shows.

“Cool Tools,” a unique show from DIY Network, showcases how some of the most common and uncommon tools are made and put to use in real-life applications. Their crew dropped by our plants for two days to film the manufacturing process of the brand new 8” CHANNELLOCK® 368 high-leverage linemen’s plier and the CHANNELLOCK® 87 Rescue Tool from start to finish.

To see process in action, visit EXPERIENCE CHANNELLOCK.

If you’re not familiar with either the 368 or the 87, it’s because we’re in the process of rolling both out now. The 368 is a more compact version of our highly-successful 9.5” 369 High-Leverage Linemen’s Plier. At 8” in length and weighing in at less than a pound, the 368 is perfect for those construction and wiring jobs where larger linemen’s pliers are too big. Meanwhile, the 87 Rescue Tool grows our line of special use rescue tools that already include the 89 Rescue Tool with Cable Cutter and our 88 6-N-1 Rescue Tool.

If you’d like to see behind-the-scenes photos from the “Cool Tools” shoot, check out our Facebook page.

The 8” 368 high-leverage Linemen’s Plier and the 87 Rescue Tool will be featured in separate episodes of “Cool Tools” season 8, which begins in November. We’ll announce the air dates and times once DIY Network finalizes its schedule in the fall.
