My grandfather has a pair of these pliers from when he worked at Studebaker then GM dealers. His Must be decades old. I was unbolting a transmission from an engine, when I found that one of the mounting bolts' head was completely rounded off. Pounded on a socket, tried vice grips, tried huge flat-face pliers, a chisel, to no avail, all making the bolt head more destroyed. this thing was stuck. I asked my grandpa for advice and he said to try this pair of pliers. I was doubtful and did not see how it could ever work. But gave it a firm grip, and first try, the pliers dug right in and did not let go. The bolt was out. I've used them in similar situations countless times, and if it weren't for these, id' be stuck drilling out the bolt and tapping new threads for many jobs. You could put these pliers on a polished pipe, handle horizontally, and hang your entire body weight on the handle and they would not slip.the harder you pull, the harder they grip. GREAT design. PRAISE to the inventor(s), whoever you are. and Thank you channellock for continuing to produce this!
